College Degrees More Expensive, Worth Less In Job Market
I understand that many people are getting a college diploma now so that it does not really make anyone stand out too much but what I don't understand is what does make someone standout to employers? It almost seems like college is not worth it if you have to pay all the loans back but can barely get a top job with your degree. I found it interesting that a Bachelors Degree is still not even worth much because it shows that the student put the effort and time into taking their education further which would stand out to an employer over someone who didn't decide to put that time and effort in. The insight I got from this article is that people need to find things that make them stick out further than just recieving their diploma once they graduate and have some sort of skill that other candidates won't be able to offer.

Should More People Skip College?
I don't understand why most jobs don't require a college degree because I thought that was the whole point of getting an education. I understand why the nursing field is always open but why aren't others? I also don't understand how people who don't go to college end up succeeding, what would make them stick out more to employers over someone who studied the subject for four years or more? Yes, I understand in the end if they do get a job that any college student could get that they make more money in the end because they don't have to pay back loans but is that fair? I found this reading to be interesting because I was unaware that people who don't have an education can get a job just as easily as someone who does have an education.

Plan B: Skip College
I agree that people who go into apprenticeships instead of college are probably more successful in their field because in college you don't necessarily get experience, you just learn and take classes related to your major that you are required to take by the university you attend. The insight I gained from this is that I wish I would have decided to do that instead of come to college because I did not know how high the chances of people who don't have college diplomas have at succeeding just as much as I can.
